Queen City Hemp First to Receive Certification From

The United States Hemp Authority for a Sparkling Beverage

Queen City Hemp has received certification from the United States Hemp Authority® (USHA) on their entire lineup of products, including their tinctures, balm and sparkling water. Queen City Hemp is the first sparkling beverage to receive the seal showing their commitment to pioneering this category for mainstream grocery.

Queen City Hemp released the first Hemp CBD Seltzer Water in the US in 2017 and now in 2021 is the first sparkling beverage certified by the US Hemp Authority. “This certification is something we’ve been working on for a long time, both internally and with our vendors and manufacturing partners.  The approval reinforces our commitment to the US hemp industry and best practices as a preferred manufacturer of hemp based CBD products as we build the category in grocery chains nationwide” said Nicholas Balzer, CEO and Co-Founder.

The USHA Certification Program, first implemented in 2018, was designed to be the industry’s initiative to provide high standards, best practices, and self-regulation, giving consumers and retailers confidence in hemp and CBD products. The third-party audits verify that farmers, processors, and individual brands follow the program’s standards allowing consumers to make educated decisions when purchasing. Dr. Marielle Weintraub, President of USHA, stated “Queen City Hemp has taken the initiative and shown great leadership in the hemp industry by assuring its customers and regulators that their hemp beverages can be trusted. Clearly consumer protection and quality control are top priorities for this company.“

The certification, issued by FoodChain ID, the exclusive certifying body for the program, ensures that companies are maintaining a quality management system and implementing standard operating procedures. Gaining one of the most prestigious hemp certifications in the nation, Queen City Hemp joins the ranks of other high-profile CBD manufacturers. Marcia Moll, Executive Director, Sales & Marketing for FoodChain ID, stated “Queen City Hemp was very responsive throughout the certification process, ensuring all necessary information was provided in a timely fashion, which resulted in certification being completed in less than 4 months.” A list of all certified companies can be found on the USHA website.

“As a pioneer for the Hemp CBD beverage category, we remain committed to providing the best quality products. We couldn’t be more proud of our team and the dedication they continue to show to our products.” said Robert Ryan, President and Co-Founder.

Queen City Hemp’s distribution agreement will be expanding the reach of their products to over 3,500 accounts across Northern Kentucky, Indiana and Greater Cincinnati, including their Jam in the Can initiative, which has become an innovative way to support the local Cincinnati music scene.

About the U.S. Hemp Authority®:

Established in 2018, The U.S. Hemp Authority® Certification Program is the hemp industry’s initiative to provide high standards, best practices, and self-regulation, giving consumers and retailers confidence in hemp and CBD products. Displayed by dozens of leading hemp and CBD brands, USHA certification is the label counted on by the industry and consumers to demonstrate product transparency and safety.

The Certification seeks to engender consumer trust so when a consumer sees the seal he/she can be confident the product displaying it is safe, legal, trustable, authentic, and high quality.
