The holidays are a wonderful time. Spending time with family, baking cookies, warm nights by the fire… the list goes on. However, for all of these amazing winter memories, there are a few drawbacks that are less than ideal. One of the biggest – dry, sensitive skin. Luckily for you, we have some skin-saving tips and a product that’s sure to help!
Tip #1: Prep your home
A common misconception is that it’s the cold, harsh outdoors that wreaks havoc on the skin. While that definitely plays a role, especially while skiing or snowboarding, an everyday issue is indoor heat. Yep, that’s right! Keeping warm during the winter comes at a personal expense. Our skin gets painful, blotchy, and tight. To combat this, try adding a humidifier to the areas of your home where you spend the most time, such as your bedroom or living room. Added moisture equals happier, hydrated skin.

Tip #2: Stay hydrated
We know, this one is said time and time again. However, we would be remiss not to mention it, because that’s just how important it really is. While adding in a humidifier is great, you also need to hydrate from the inside out. We know it’s the season for festive cocktails and lots of caffeine, but it’s important not to overdo it since diuretics like these will promote dehydration. Instead, try infusing your water with mint or citrus, or if you’re looking for something bubbly, crack open one of our Hemp seltzers. We don’t expect you to cut out coffee and booze completely, but it’s worth it to throw in a glass of water between cocktails. Also, be sure to check out our 12 days of seltzer for some fun mocktail and cocktail recipes!

Tip #3: Moisturize frequently
We would argue that most people wash their hands at least twice as much, and use much hotter water in the shower this time of year. Washing your skin at such high temperatures comes with a lot of dry skin as a result. Luckily, our hemp balm doesn’t mess around and your skin will be thanking you all winter long.
And that’s it! These simple, doable tips will surely help replenish your dehydrated skin and keep you feeling healthy and nourished through all the dry times ahead.
